and...
super yey! i got page 1 penciled...
first is the ketch... this took me a night (or two) to get done...
and three days later... we have the final pencil drawing...
i know... you're gonna say, 'glow that took you 5 nights! you're crazy!'
yes you're right and that was because of:
- the buildings - i basically copied some european scenic pic i googled for the buildings and it took me two nights...
- the people - i tried googling some early 1900s crowds and clothes since i'm trying to make this steampunk, but that proved more challenging than i thought... i finally came up with what you see based on various googled pics and some stuff i plain had to make up...
- google research - i tried looking for pics for everything: buildings, clothes, even the gun, and luckily enough
- the truck - the truck was some cool boxy looking pic of an early 1900s truck i found... it's got such a cool design that i'll probably try to showcase it in the backgrounds of the next few pages...
and finally, a suggestion for anyone that read this far - if you want to add more realism and variety to your art, pay attention to real life and google often... but also be warned the content filtering probably doesn't work as well as you'd like it to...
enjoy and stay tuned

... ... but not too tuned... this kind of stuff takes a while in after work hours...
