Okay, I know I am working like....on a MILLION different mangas right now, but actually, I plan to collab with someone on this one, having them do the art and I just give them the story. This is actually a story I am writing on FictionPress.com, in the Manga catagory, called "Fate Of Destiny" and I LOVE how it's turned out so far!
The story is about two childhood friends, Kevin and Chinatsu. It's their 8th friendship anniversary, and since their first meeting, Kevin has dreaded this day. Why? He loves Chinatsu, but unfortunately, it was time to tell her something.....something that involes their destiny! When Chinatsu was young, she always had a dream, a dream of another world, and for 2 years her mother sent her to a special children's therapy center, rendering the poor girl friendless. Upon release, 2 weeks later, she met Kevin. Anyways, Kevin is FROM her dream world! It's of an actual place. Both Kevin and Chinatsu are known as the "twins" from the "Aryilasa Prophesy", they are not blood related, they are just called the twins because the have the same birthday and have the gift of prophesy, their destiny has to do with saving the world Kevin came from. However, in the prophesy, it says that the twins are to be separated for 8 years, until destiny brings them back together again, hence why Kevin dreaded this day, because it was the day they were both to return to his world, but have to be separated. Anyways, it's on FictionPress.com, so if you wanna read it, go ahead.
Anyways, does it sound like a good story to be turned into a manga? I don't know who I'll collab with yet or who would be willing to, but I just wanna know if it would make a good manga or not. This is tied with a Christian fantasy story I am writing, which Iwill turn into a manga as well, this is the "second series" happening after the great war that splits the lands.

What is the point of the prophesy and what does it have to do with saving the world?

I say yes to ChristianAnimeGirl's manga, but like GaBo I would like to know the point of prophesy. Also I would be willing to help with artwork.

Thanks, guys! This would be really fun to see as a manga!
@GaBo: I have a fantasy series I am working on called Assarian Chronicles (originally "Scattered Starlight") and this is the second series, which I may use the original title for. This is after the great war, that separates the lands of Assara. I haven't written very much, so I don't know exactly myself, since when I write stories, I usually write as I go along and see where my writing takes me, but basically, the prophesy is of "the twins" with the gift of prophesy, they will meet others with gifts from the Holy Spirit, and go on separate journeys. Chinatsu's role is to find Jakira-hime, who has been captured by the evil Lunarites (moon worshippers, they have a big part in both first and second series as the villains). So, it's still in developement.
@Mooch: You'd be willing to help draw this for me? If you really are interested, PM me, and I'll give you the "Prologue" you can draw out, with little footnotes on how I'd like it in manga form.

i skimmed over it a bit... there's elements i like, and other elements that seem more literary than made for any visual medium... which is not a bad thing... i'm just point that out...
overall it seems like a fantasy story... am i right? also, since it deals with prophecy i'm trying to see where it really connects with the Christian faith (being in different worlds and all)... i think you mentioned in this thread that the connection exists... i'm trying to see if i can pinpoint a few more details about it... can you describe that part a bit more here?

Well, it's really undeveloped right now. The story will focus alot on many spiritual gifts, and basically to trust God, and to use the gifts for Him. Yes, it's a fantasy. But there's alot unexplained 'cause, I haven't thought of it yet XD so it's too early in the writing process for me to really fill that in.

that's fine... just keep brainstorming and writing out the ideas... from what i remember when i skimmed it, i'd suggest to make the narrative portions have a lot less explanation and dialog... long narratives are ok in books, but lose people's attention spans in visual media... when you look over the stuff you've written already, see if you can take details out of the dialogs and put them into things like characters' actions...
a good technique to apply is to panel stuff out in a comic book form... you can even make it as simple as sketching stick figures and putting in the dialog so you get a rough idea of what it will end up looking like... if you notice that your pages end up very verbose, those areas are prime candidates for shortening the dialogs...
if there's areas where you try to focus on drama, and thus need more text, space the panels out a bit more so you don't end up with too much text in one place...

I call those unexplained causes chain links that need hooks, (if ya know what I mean.) Usually those happen when you're not sure about things in a story or everything's splat like paint in your head, or both. "LOL"XDD Just take your time to organize and go slowly through your head about the order of events. Skip the spaces in between chains and come back later to hook 'em. What sometimes happens is you get the answer in a later event. One more thing, don't try to turn pictures into words in your head, just think about what's said in that event, and when you're ready to write, the words will flow on to the paper. By that last line I mean, "a picture is worth a thousand words." You don't need to stress yourself thinking up new words for the picture, it was already done for you. Hope this helps.
