here's a few hand studies i just put together... these were all real photos once... (some still might be since i got them off google)... i left in the main guides i used... this lesson's not a step by step lesson like i did before, but i'm hoping there's enough guidance there to come in... 'handy'...

hands were definitely one of the hardest features for me to pick up... the best advice i can give is... find images of real hands in poses you want and copy reality... learning how to draw good hands is the devil otherwise...
you can also trace and copy your favorite hands from manga... imitate the styles you like... don't worry about making it your original style... learn what your favorite artists do and your own style will develop out of that afterwards...
also, it might not come out right for a while... i had to do that fist twice, for example... so... focus on the proportions when you're initially sketching...
i find that my favorite manga and anime end up having pretty realistic hands and anatomy in general... in fact, a lot of really good manga and anime is drawn pretty realistically... it's just the faces are deformed to make it look like manga... for the most part everything else can look as realistic or un- as you want it to...
