In C. S. Lewis' The Screwtape Letters, a demon named Screwtape writes boastfully to his nephew: "We will make the whole universe a noise. The melodies and silences of Heaven will be shouted down in the end."
My mother has lovingly told me, using that analogy, that the music I write sounds like the "melodies of Heaven". So I deemed that an appropriate title for this page, the musical part of my site.
There are two tables below; the first one contains my own compositions while the second contains simply pieces which I've arranged. The MIDI versions of all of them are best heard with the Roland GM/GS Sound Canvas via the Microsoft Synthesizer. (If you don't have that installed, check out Simple DirectMusic Player.) If there's an MP3 version available in the compositions table, it means that I got up enough guts to actually sing! Be warned that I'm not the greatest singer in the world, so I included the text in case you can't understand me. If there's an MP3 file available in the arrangments table, it means I originally created it in a non-MIDI format. I've listed the size in megabytes (and bytes) of MP3 files for convenience.
| Title | MIDI? | MP3?/Filesize | Text? | Comments |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Anime Angels Lullaby | Yes | Yes - 3.13 MB (3,280,768 bytes) | Yes | Wrote in early 2003 for the Anime Angels website, along with the Upbeat Epic version in the Arrangements section. |
| Gladly He Will Cheer Your Heart | Yes | Yes - 3.83 MB (4,012,073 bytes) | Yes | Wrote in summer of 2002 while going through tough times and sung while getting over a cold... |
| He'll Catch You When You Fall | Yes | Yes - 3.04 MB (3,182,592 bytes) | Yes | Wrote in late 2005 for a friend, just because I felt like it. (And once again sung with a cold. For some reason I actually think I sound better with a cold...) |
| Praiseful Hymn of the Angelic | Yes | Yes - 2.17 MB (2,277,642 bytes) | Yes | I wrote the MIDI file way back in 1997, but Anime4Christ arranged it quite nicely as an MP3 file. (And yes, that's still me singing.) |
| Sailor, Make Him Your Anchor! | Yes | Yes - 3.85 MB (4,039,865 bytes) | Yes | Wrote in winter/spring of 2001... |
Why Have You Forgiven Me? |
Yes | Yes - 3.62 MB (3,790,848 bytes) | Yes | I wrote this one under Inkhana's request in early 2005. She wanted a theme for a couple of her own fictional characters -- the basic idea is that the boy is asking God why He forgives him for murdering so many people and almost killing the girl of his dreams, and then the girl comes and offers a human perspective. (Mom helped me with this one by singing the girl's part.) |
